Fragrance notes bespoke candle oceanic

Scent: 
Fresh familiarity of beach life with sparks of added wonder! Sea salt air carrying delicious memories of driftwood and delicate florals. A citrus note completes the fougere accord in this uplifting fragrance. Natural ingredients: Italian Bergamot, Lemon, Neroli, Petigrain, Elemi, Vetiver.

"Evoking water can be challenging in perfumery as it's more of a feeling than a scent. With OCEAN we wanted to design a marine that is exciting and not stereotypical.

To evoke the saltiness of the ocean we have used an ambergris note.

We also chose vetiver from Haiti which has a rooty saltiness, like a piece of driftwood washed up on a shore.

A fougere accord adds an extra dimension with Italian bergamot and lemon bringing freshness; followed by orange flower paired with Lavandin, grown at high altitude in France, lending an almost spa-like freshness to this oceanic scent”

 

Materials:  

Fragranced rapeseed wax candle with a woven cotton wick.  Recyclable European glass jar coloured with water-based paint.  Engraved European solid ash lid.  Oil blends designed and formulated in the UK.

Packaging:

Carbon balanced cardboard box containing foil detail. Fully recyclable. Designed and manufactured in the UK.

  • Always trim the wick before burning. 5mm will give the best results.
  • To get the most out of your candle, burn it until the entire surface of the candle melts. This is most important the first time you light the candle.
  • Make sure there is no debris sitting on the wax before lighting. Do not burn for more than 2 hours at a time.
  • Do not leave candle burning unattended. Do not set in a draft. Keep away from children, curtains and pets.
  • Always protect the surface that the candle sits upon (with a wood or ceramic plate, for example).
  • Do not burn your candle all the way down. Always leave at least 5 mm of non-molten wax at the bottom.
  • This candle contains lots of natural ingredients. It should be kept out of direct sunlight and used within 6 months of purchase.

I'm sunshine and sea salt, I'm wet hair and sand. I'm rolling waves splashing on golden shores. I'm endless blue waters and infinite sky, stretching out beyond steep cliffs and deep caves. Pinks, purples and oranges on the horizon.

Just love this candle...

We absolutely love this candle, it looks gorgeous and smells wonderful! The candle itself burns slowly and we have been using it most evenings. I'm often disappointed when buying candles but I love the scent of 'Ocean' it fills the room without being overpowering and it lasts. The packaging is beautifully original and unboxing the candle is an experience in itself. It is reassuring to know you are buying from a sustainable brand who has paid thought and attention to every little part of the process and made the most eco conscious choices from start to finish whilst creating a super luxury, high quality product.

A beautiful candle that smells good and does good!

There are many candle brands on the market today, but from the ingredients to the packaging, few take their environmental responsibility as seriously as UNDO. Thoughtfully created and luxuriously delivered, their products will not disappoint! The luxury price tag is more than justified by the quality of the product and the efforts that have gone into its considered creation, not to mention the impressive burn time.

The Rainforest candle is a fusion of fruity, flowery, spicy and woody notes. I won’t pretend to be a fantastic wordsmith, and describing scents is definitely not one of my strengths. I can say that the depth of the Rainforest fragrance is notable - not one layer dominates the other, yet each is discernible.

Like all natural candles, the throw of the scent is subtle, not overwhelming, which is perfect for someone like me who is sensitive to powerful smells and struggles with headaches from synthetic fragrances. The result for me was a pleasant background scent, which after burning for an hour or so left a gentle trace that my husband picked up on when returning home - a scent he described as “comforting”, and I absolutely couldn’t have said it better myself!

Thanks UNDO for such a beautiful creation.

Essence of The Ocean

Water

Over 70% of the Earth's surface is water, so it felt necessary to create a blend based on an aquatic ecosystem! This was a challenging fragrance concept, considering that water isn't a smell as such but more a feeling!

In Ocean, we were searching for something that celebrates the sea but wasn't stereotypical. With a fresh familiarity and sparks of wonder.

Haitian Vetiver

Salty Air

To evoke senses of the ocean we developed an ambergris note and then added vetiver from Haiti, which has a rooty saltiness to it, reminiscent of driftwood washed up on the shore.

Vetiver is grown in the western part of Haiti by small independent growers. This warm and earthy smelling plant plays an important role in ecosystem conservation all over the world. The unique characteristics of vetiver enable it to remove toxins from water and rehabilitate degraded soils, it's referred to as a miracle grass!

Bergamot & Orange Blossom

Fresh Fougere

To add an extra layer of excitement to the blend, we introduced a fougere accord. In the top, Italian bergamot and lemon bring a freshness, which is paired with an unexpected pineapple note bringing the welcome suggestion of tropical climates. 

In the heart, an orange flower accord is complimented with Petitgrain, lending a spa-like feeling to this cool and aromatic blend.
